Tom Darling was born in Oxford, England. A literature graduate, in 2003 he was awarded an M.Phil. in Creative Writing from Trinity College, Dublin.
Since then he has published two novels (Glass People, which featured artwork by Jamie Reid, and Summer, which was published by Little, Brown/Abacus) together with a handful of short stories.
In 2011, he wrote a short film called Maria. It premiered at the Stockholm International Film Festival and starred Sophie Hunter. Over the years, he has written for various newspapers and magazines, from The Independent in the UK to The Flyfish Journal in the US.
Tom is currently working on his first historical novel. He is also involved in a collaboration with the author and illustrator Sophie Escabasse to produce a full length graphic novel.
